Young Man Missing at Sinhagad Found After Four Days
Khadakwasla, Ta. 24: A young man who went missing from Sinhagad on Wednesday has been found safe after four days. The man, Gautam Adinath Gaikwad (age 24, from Hyderabad, Telangana), was found today morning behind the samadhi of Narveer Tanaji Malusare at Sinhagad.
Behind Tanaji Malusare's samadhi at Sinhagad Fort, you can find a water tank and the ruined residence of Sardar Harji Dhamdhere. During restoration work on the fort in 2019, the original memorial stone of Tanaji was discovered beneath the existing memorial structure. While the samadhi is located at Sinhagad, the historical site of his actual cremation and subsequent memorial is in Umrath village, which is now known as Madheghat
After local citizens found Gautam Gaikwad at Sinhagad, they helped him get down from the fort. He was then admitted to a hospital in Khanapur for treatment. Police Inspector Sachin Wagde confirmed that he is currently undergoing treatment.
Gautam had come to Sinhagad with a friend. He had gone to a dam with his friend for a picnic but did not return. In the evening, his friend filed a police complaint after he couldn't find him. The police stated that due to rain and fog, visibility was poor, causing a three-day delay in the search operation.
Today, police, citizens, forest officials, disaster management teams, and relatives conducted a search operation. Approximately 60 people participated. After a brief search, Gautam was spotted by tourists behind the samadhi. The tourists informed the local citizens, who then helped him. Gautam was very tired and exhausted, and had scratch marks on his body, said Gramsevak Sanjay Gaikwad.
