According to him, his actual plan was to visit chanderi fort and see the cave and the statue of shivaji maharaj atop the fort (to reach top of chanderi fort one has to climb and traverse a few rockpatches). Only information that he had was about the statue on top of the fort. He had took the route from badlapur(chincholi village) towards chanderi fort. Before reaching the col between chanderi and mhaismal, he took another route and somehow reached a col in mhaismal pinnacles. As mountains appear different from different distances and because he was unfamiliar with the region, he was under the impression that he is on chanderi and began climbing the pinnacles. He climbed a proper rock face of around 120ft, climbed down into another col between 2 pinnacles and climbed another 50ft of scree and loose rocks thinking that he was going to reach chanderi and once he reaches the top, there would be another proper route to get down. पेठ शहापूर येथील हॉटेल मालकाची मुजोरी’ नमस्कार मित्रांनो! परवाच लोणावळ्यातील पेठ शहापूर या गावात आलेला अनुभव आपल्या सोबत शेर करीत आहे.. शालेय विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये गिर्यारोहणाची आवड निर्माण व्हावी, त्यातील धोके ओळखून सुक्षित व तंत्रशुद्ध डोंगरयात्रा कशी करावी, निसर्गाशी जवळीक साधताना त्याच्याशी प्रामाणिक राहून या साहसी क्रीडाप्रकाराचा निखळ आनंद कसा अनुभवायचा या हेतूने नियमितपणे मी डोंगर भटकंतीचे आयोजन करीत असतो. त्याचाच एक भाग म्हणून परवा पेठ शहापूर या गावालगत असणाऱ्या ‘कोरीगड’ या नितांत सुंदर किल्ल्यावर पुन्हा जाण्याचा योग आला. सोबत मुलांचा छोटा संघ व आमचा डॉक्टर, गिर्यारोहक मित्र सुमित देखील होता सोबतीला. या गावात असणाऱ्या (बहुदा एकमेव) ‘कोराईमाता हॉटेल’ येथे दुपारच्या जेवणाची व्यवस्था होईल अशी माहिती एका मित्राद्वारे समजली. येथील हनुमान मंदिराला लागुनच हे हॉटेल(?) आहे. तेथे प्रत्यक्ष जाण्याच्या दोन दिवस आधी जेवण उपलब्ध होण्यासाठी फोनवर आगाऊ सूचना दिली, समोरून होकार मिळाला. शनिवारी सकाळी ८.४५ च्या सुमारास छोट्या बसने सर्वजण तेथे पोचलो. ट्रेक सुरु होण्यापूर्वी आमचा जेवणाचा प्रत्
