 माथेरान पेब किल्ला टे्किंगसाठी आलेला तरुण रस्ता चुकल्याने माथेरान प्रेस कल्बचे अध्यक्ष दिनेश सुतार मदतीसाठी धावले

                                                   थंड हवेचे प्रसिद्ध पर्यटनस्थळ असलेल्या माथेरानच्या डोंगराला लागूनच असलेला पेब कील्ला अर्थात विकट गड हा पावसाळी पर्यटनासाठी प्रचलित आहे.अनेक हौशी महाविद्यालयीन तरूण तरुणी विकेंडमध्ये या निसर्गरम्य परिसरातील कड्यावरील गणपती तसेच पेब किल्ल्याला भेट देत असतात. ३१ जुलै रोजी डोंबिवली येथील १२ जणांचा ग्रुप ट्रेकिंग साठी पेब किल्ला येथे आला होता.या ग्रुपमध्ये ९ तरुणी ३ तरुण असा एकूण १२ जण रस्ता चुकल्याने घाबरलेल्या अवस्थेत पोलीसांकडे  दूरध्वनी वरून मदतीसाठी धावा करत होता.

सदर तरूण तरुणी फणसवाडी मार्गे ट्रेक करत करत सर्वजण पेब किल्ल्यावर पोहोचले होते. किल्ल्यावर मजा मस्ती करत ट्रीपचा मनसोक्त आनंद घेतल्यानंतर सायंकाळी घरी परतण्यासाठी परतीचा प्रवास त्यांनी सुरू केला. वॉटर पाईप रेल्वे ट्रॅकच्या मार्गाने ते सर्वजण मार्गस्थ होत असताना दोन आठवडयापूर्वी अतिवृष्टीच्या तडाख्यामुळे येथे दरड कोसळल्याची घटना घडली होती. नेहमीच्या मार्गावरुन ट्रेकिंग साठी येणाऱ्या या तरुणांना ही दरड रेल्वे मार्गावर  दिसून आल्याने थोडे गोंधळाचे वातावरण निर्माण झाले. समोर फक्त मोठमोठे दगड, बाजूला दरी आणि संपूर्ण चिखलाचे साम्राज्य त्यात अंधार काळाकुट्ट व आजूबाजूला घनदाट जंगल असल्याने मार्ग सापडेना त्यात महीलांची संख्या जास्त असल्यामुळे खुपचं भयावह परिस्थिती त्यांच्यावर ओढवली होती. या संकट काळात एकमेकांना धीर देत साधारण ७:४५ वाजता मदतीसाठी त्यांनी कर्जत व नेरळ पोलीसांना फोन केला होता. या अनुषंगाने कर्जत वरून माथेरान पोलीस ठाणे तसेच माथेरान सहयाद्री आपत्कालीन संस्थेचे अध्यक्ष वैभव नाईक यांना संपर्क करण्यात आला. यानंतर लगेचच मदतकार्यासाठी चक्र फीरली गेलीत.

माथेरान पोलीस ठाण्याचे सहाय्यक पोलीस निरीक्षक प्रशांत काळे यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली सह्याद्री रेस्क्यु टीमचे वैभव नाईक ,चेतन कळंबे, सुनिल ढोले महेश काळे यांसह संपूर्ण टीम, पत्रकार दिनेश सुतार हे दरड कोसळलेल्या त्या रेल्वे मार्गावर चिखलातुन तसेच मोठमोठ्या दगडांवरून मार्ग काढत या रस्ता चुकलेल्या तरुणांपर्यंत पोहोचले. हे सर्व तरुण अनपेक्षित घडलेल्या  प्रकारामुळे भयभीत झाले होते.यावेळी सहाय्यक पोलीस निरीक्षक प्रशांत काळे यांनी सर्वांना धीर देत त्यांच्यातील भीती घालवण्यासाठी थट्टामस्करी करत रेस्क्यू टिमीच्या मदतीने अखेर अडकलेल्या १२ जणांच्या ग्रुपला जवळपास रात्री १० वाजताच्या  सुमारास सुखरूप बाहेर काढले.  पोलीस अधिकारी तसेच रेस्क्यु टिमचे या ग्रुपने आभार मानत कृतज्ञता व्यक्त केली.तर सहाय्यक पोलीस निरीक्षक काळे यांनी नेरळ – माथेरान टॅक्सी चालकांच्या सहकार्याने जास्त रात्र व उशीर झाल्याने या सर्वांची घरी जाण्याची व्यवस्था देखील करून दिली.

                                                   Adjacent to the hill station of Matheran, which is a famous tourist destination for cool air, Peb Fort i.e. Vikat Gad is popular for rainy season tourism. On July 31, a group of 12 people from Dombivali had come to Peb Fort for trekking.

The young woman was trekking through Phanaswadi and everyone had reached Peb fort. After having fun at the fort and enjoying the trip, they started their journey back home in the evening. The incident took place two weeks ago when they were all on the way to the water pipe railway track when a torrential downpour hit here. These youngsters, who used to come for trekking from the usual route, saw this pain on the railway line, which created a little confusion. In front there was only a large rock, a valley on the side and a whole muddy kingdom. It was dark and dark and there was a dense forest around it. There was no way out. They had called the Karjat and Neral police for help at around 7:45 am. In this connection, Matheran Police Thane and Vaibhav Naik, President of Matheran Sahyadri Emergency Society were contacted from Karjat. Soon after, the wheel was turned for help.

Under the guidance of Assistant Inspector of Police, Matheran Police Station, Prashant Kale, the entire team including Vaibhav Naik, Chetan Kalambe, Sunil Dhole, Mahesh Kale of Sahyadri Rescue Team and journalist Dinesh Sutar reached the stranded youth through mud and stones. All these youngsters were frightened by the unexpected incident. At this time, Assistant Inspector of Police Prashant Kale jokingly tried to allay the fears of the people and with the help of the rescue team rescued the group of 12 people who were trapped at around 10 pm. The group thanked the police officers and the rescue team. Assistant Inspector Kale, with the help of Neral-Matheran taxi drivers, arranged for them to go home as it was getting late at night.

Friends, go for trekking, be happy, but take full knowledge of the situation where you are going. Be aware of the time when your parents and relatives are waiting for you at home, because overzealousness can sometimes take its toll on your life.
