Waterfalls to avoid in the monsoon

The locations identified as dangerous monsoon spots are –

  2. Chinchoti waterfalls in Vasai,
  3. Pandavkada in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, 
  4. Zenith waterfall at Khopoli, 
  5. Kundeshwar at Badlapur, 
  6. Kalavantin Fort in Panvel.
  7. Kataldhar waterfall in Lonavala, 
  8. Mahuli stream at Aasangaon, 
  9. Harishchandra Nalichi Vaat, Nagpur, 
  10. Andharban in Mulshi, 
  11. Plus valley in Raigad, 
  12. Dudhsagar in Goa, 
  13. Baraki waterfall in Kolhapur, 
  14. Rautwadi waterfall in Kolhapur, 
  15. Gadeshwar Dam in Panvel
  16. Thoseghar waterfall in Satara.

“Rather than going to the hills, vacationers and explorers can go to beaches or even hilly regions like Rajmachi in Sahayadri mountain range, Karnala bird sanctuary in Panvel, Kothaligad (Peth) in Karjat etc., which are relatively very safe,” said Shrikant Pillai, resident of Kandivali and member of Yatri-Sahayadri, who has been an avid trekker for the past two decades.
