Pune forest department bans entry to Tamhini, Andharban, Sudhagarh Jun 26, 2018 1

Pune:  It will be mandatory for tourists visiting the forest to get permission from forest department to prevent the destruction of rare species, insects and bird species in Tahhani Ghat. It is in the final stage that the rules for tourists are also being prepared.

Vivek Khandekar, chief conservator of forest, Pune circle, said, “Two months ago, we conducted a survey in these areas and found that unregulated tourism in the region is destroying biodiversity. We are therefore contemplating and will be taking firm criminal action against unauthorised entry into the area.”
